Error Handling in Model-Based design for Real-Time Systems

Abstract
In general, models of computation are used to specify component interaction with timing semantics. Generally, however, these specification semantics do not include error handling. More precisely they do not include specification for the handling of timing errors. Timing errors will very likely occur in real-time systems and it is essential that these errors are modeled so that they can be handled accordingly. This work focuses on incorporating error handling in the modeling environment to enable simulation of error behavior as well as providing the same mechanisms in the software synthesis from the model.
