MSOffice2016InstallProblem

Eliminating unwanted Microsoft 'Buy' product message

If, after installing the department's volume-licensed Office 2016, you are prompted with a Try, Buy, or Activate window when you first start any Office program, close the program and right click Command Prompt(Admin) from the Start menu to open a window.

Using basic dos commands, navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and enter the following 2 commands to edit the registry:

reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\OEM /f

reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\OEM /f

The annoying messages should no longer appear when initializing an Office app.
